LMHS JAMBOREE

Southern University’s A.W Mumford stadium hosted a Jamboree on Friday, August 30th, where there were people from various schools. There were different teams going against each other, and Liberty faced off against Istrouma High School. A huge crowd came out to support our football team, as well as have some fun! There were concessions with various foods such as nachos, hot dogs, candy, drinks, etc.

The following is an interview with LMHS's football coach, Coach Boone, giving us insight on the season ahead, as well as the players:

How do you feel about last week's first scrimmage of the season?

 

Boone: We were about where we need to be progression wise, everything went well,you know you wanna be at certain spots.

What could you take from last week's scrimmage to help your players for the jamboree?

​

Boone: Find the mistakes and correct them, there are not a lot of mistakes,but what you can't see from the field, you have to watch the film, correct the mistakes and we were happy about the win, but you have to get better each week.

​

Are you excited for the rest of the season?

​

 Boone: Yeah I'm excited, we expect to win a lot of games.

As you know, the football players are going to see this so,who are some of the players you can highlight so far?

They showed up all summer,worked really hard, had real potential,and kept putting in all the hard work.

The football jamboree was a success and the boys won 24-0. Let's continue to support the football team as they get ready for the season with a game officially coming September 5th!
