Many players felt the change of coaches would negatively impact the team. Others felt different sports were their calling. In our junior year the football team improved compared to freshman year. Many players felt the coaches were working them better than the previous coaches. Training would be harsh and planning would be more strategic. I've asked around and people are saying the football team is better than it was before. I've asked players how they feel about the new coaches and one student in particular explained he felt like the new coaches are smarter and better. Although he felt the change was ‘weird and disappointing’ it was better for the team. Liberty Magnet High School football team used to be known as a losing team but ever since the change in coach the sports team has improved. Throughout the football season the football has improved greatly. From strategies on the field to incorporating team play. During the previous year football season the same players used to play. The new coaches incorporated more players into the new game plays. I am no football coach but I can notice a difference in the positions people play. The quarter back gets rotated, line backer, defensive back. The new coaches not only care about strategy but letting the players get time on the field. This can help students get scouted by coaches to go pro. Overall the coach change had a great impact on the team and also for the school. With the team winning more games the school has more spirit and morale! comments debug Comments Write a comment Write a comment Share Your Thoughts Be the first to write a comment.

Have you ever been charmed before? If not, you definitely will be after listening to this album. One of the most anticipated albums of the year had finally been released. After three long years, the album of the Year was finally out. The Album “Charm” written and produced by Claire Cottril, famously known as Clairo, was released on July 12th, 2024. Charm is recognized as her 3rd studio album, following her 2nd album “Sling” which was released 3 years ago. The album includes 11 songs and sums up to a total of 38 minutes. Each song is a mixture of pop, jazz, and soft rock. When released, the album debuted at number eight on the U.S. Billboard 200 and was also nominated for a Grammy in the Best Alternative Music Album section. With each song, Clairo takes the listener on a journey and tells a story about the past three years of her life. This album is fantastically produced and easily takes the number one stop as my favorite album ever created. Out of all 11 songs, I would say it is definitely hard for me to pick out my favorite. Although, if I had to choose one, it would have to be Add Up My Love. This song is one of my favorite songs of all time. In the chorus, Clairo sings the lines: “Add up my love Honey, was it enough? (Ooh) Is it ever enough?” The song, in my opinion, is about one of her breakups and how she wondered what her ex-partner truly felt about her or does she still ever think about her? To many, this song can be relatable to the average person, which is what makes this album so great. Along with my favorite song, “Nomad” and “Thank You” are definitely up there on my list. But overall, all songs are beautifully produced and written and have made me cry on first listen. If you have to listen to a new album today, let it be this one. comments debug Comments Write a comment Write a comment Share Your Thoughts Be the first to write a comment.

- Back-to-School Reset: Tips to Start the Year Strong | TLFP
Facebook X (Twitter) WhatsApp LinkedIn Pinterest Copy link Back-to-School Reset: Tips to Start the Year Strong Kaylee Martin Aug 15, 2025 Liberty Magnet is back in session! Liberty Magnet is back in session! The first week back can feel like hitting the ground running, but with a few smart habits, you can prevent the chaos and be smooth-sailing the whole semester. Starting a new school year is an important time for students to set the tone for the year. It is more than being in the classroom again. The start of school is a natural reset point, a chance to step back, evaluate what worked last year, and set up routines that will make the coming months a little less stressful. Some students may thrive on color-coded planners, while others may be OK with a controlled chaos. Many face common challenges in those early weeks, from juggling new classes and schedules to staying motivated and organized. While every student operates differently, adopting intentional strategies can help anyone begin the year on the right foot. The key is finding what works for you and committing to it. Start strong and stay ahead . One of the best ways to avoid mid-semester burnout is to frontload your efforts. According to KD College Prep, experts recommend staying ahead in your classes as long as possible. Knocking out assignments early and tackling reading before it piles up is the most efficient way to leave not only time for studying, but also extracurricular activities you may want to do after-school instead of mountains of homework. Make a routine your friend . Routines might sound boring, but they’re a student’s best defense against tardies, missed homework, and unnecessary stress. The WISE Study Tips guide from Auburn University suggests setting consistent times for waking up, studying, and winding down.Creating set “study hours” each day helps train your brain to focus at the same time, just like an athlete practices every day before the game to up their skills. Even 20 minutes of planned review each evening can keep you from cramming at midnight before a big test. Write it down…literally everything! A well-utilized planner is not just for homework. Include project deadlines, sports practices, test dates, club meetings, and even downtime. This way, you can spot busy weeks ahead of time and plan accordingly. If you’re more visual, try color-coding by category to quickly see where your time is going. No matter if you’re a paper-and-pen person or a Google Calendar lover, having all your commitments in one place can keep you from double-booking yourself and help you see busy weeks coming. Build your social toolkit. High school success isn’t just about academics. CollegeVine notes that strong social skills like communicating face-to-face, asking for help, and working well in groups can boost both your confidence and your opportunities. Start small: introduce yourself to classmates you don’t know yet, or sit with someone new at lunch. Joining a club or team can help you meet people who share your interests while giving you practice in collaboration, leadership, and public speaking. These connections can turn into study buddies, supportive friends, and even future professional contacts. Carve out a study space. Studying in bed might sound comfortable, but it’s more likely to put you to sleep than put you in the zone. KD College Prep recommends finding a quiet, organized space with minimal distractions: a clear desk, good lighting, and maybe some noise-canceling headphones or background study music. Keep all your supplies nearby so you don’t break focus by getting up to find a pen or charger. Over time, your brain will associate that spot with productivity, making it easier to switch into “study mode” when you sit down. Most importantly, stay balanced. The most successful students know when to work and when to step away. Short breaks, healthy habits, and social time can all prevent burnout. In the end, it’s not about perfection, it’s about consistency. Whether it’s starting a simple routine, finding a study method that works for you, or staying connected with friends, small steps can lead to big results. We Liberty Magnet students are known for pushing boundaries and reaching high goals, and with the right mindset and habits in place, this can be your best year yet. So take a breath, reset, and remember: success starts with a strong foundation. comments debug Comments Write a comment Write a comment Share Your Thoughts Be the first to write a comment.

That's the big question on everyone's mind—from students to teachers. What's going on with clubs this year? That's the big question on everyone's mind—from students to teachers. While answers may still be up in the air, we took the initiative to ask some seniors what clubs they'd like to see, what they hope to achieve, and how they'd rate the ones they've been part of in the past. Over the years, students have been able to experience a wide variety of clubs, with some even creating their own if they could find a sponsor. However, the journey hasn’t always been smooth. Freshman year saw no in-school clubs, only after-school ones. Sophomore year offered few options, leaving students who weren’t interested in clubs sitting in study hall. By junior year, things were smoother, though some students were placed in clubs they didn’t sign up for. We spoke to seniors about their thoughts on clubs, and most agreed: improvement is needed. Remaya Bell shared her candid thoughts: Food club: “0/10. We didn’t eat; we just sat there.” Young Filmmakers: “10/10. Mr. Musgrow was over it, so I really enjoyed it.” A real Food club: “I'm hungry, and I like to eat.” Letting us know that she plans to rejoin the club if it is better organized, lives up to its potential, and active. Kyleigh Crooper had her own take on other clubs: Beta Club: “1/10. The teacher tried, but it didn’t work out. Deadlines weren’t met or set in place.” Key Club: “10/10. It offers many opportunities to get community service hours for graduation. I LOVE the teachers over it—Mr. Mitchell and Mrs. Mash.” Korean Culture Club: “9.5/10. I learned about Ms. Wicker and her travels abroad, and we played Korean games like Chicken Fight.” The Refurbished Korean Culture Club: “There’s a lot more you can pull from it.” Kyleigh's opinion let us know that she looks for well organized clubs where the sponsors are strong-willed and stand in what they set. Ajhani Wright wants a change: Chick-fil-a club: This year he wants to help serve the community along with the kids compared to previous years where he’s only been in clubs that just sit around. Alexi Lewis loves learning about culture: Caribbean Culture Club: This club doesn‘t exist yet but she hopes it gets created and can “teach people about culture, food, holidays, traditions.” Finally, Khang Tran didn’t have much to say but expressed excitement to join Beta Club this year, “ looking forward to serving the community. While seniors had mixed experiences, they remain hopeful that clubs this year will live up to their potential and offer more engaging, meaningful activities. comments debug Comments Write a comment Write a comment Share Your Thoughts Be the first to write a comment.
- REVIEW - Instant Pot Vortex 5.7QT Air Fryer | TLFP
Facebook X (Twitter) WhatsApp LinkedIn Pinterest Copy link REVIEW - Instant Pot Vortex 5.7QT Air Fryer This air fryer is very convenient and easy to use. In today's product review, I will be reviewing the Instant Pot Vortex 5.7QT air fryer. This air fryer is very convenient and easy to use. This review will cover key aspects such as performance, ease of use, design, and overall value to help readers determine if this air fryer is a worthwhile addition to their kitchen. I will also be reviewing how easy the product is to clean. Performance: How well does the air fryer cook different types of food (e.g., fries, chicken, vegetables)? This week I used the air fryer to cook some french fries. I set the air fryer to 350 degrees Fahrenheit, and for 13 minutes. I let the fries cook about halfway, then I shook them around and allowed them to cook the rest of the time. After the full 13 minutes was up, I took the fires out and let them cook for about 5 minutes. The fries cooked through very nicely and were crispy, but not burnt! Another day of the week I cooked some chicken nuggets, but instead of 13 minutes, I put them in there for 15 and instead of 350 degrees, I put them in there for 345 degrees. It was the same results, still very good. Does the food come out evenly cooked and crispy? Yes! After allowing the foods to cook for the whole amount of time, the food cooks evenly and crispy. How consistent are the cooking results with different temperature settings? The cooking results are very constant with different temperature settings. Is the cooking time faster or slower compared to a traditional oven? The cooking time is much faster than using a traditional oven. If I would’ve used the oven to cook either the fries or the nuggets, they would have been in there for an extra 7 minutes. It also takes the oven a few minutes longer to preheat than the air fryer. Does the air fryer maintain a steady temperature throughout cooking? No, I didn’t have any problems with the temperature changing while the food was in the airfryer cooking. Ease of Use: How simple is the setup and first use? The setup is very easy, all you have to do is take the air fryer out the box and plug it up. Using it for the first time is very easy as well. The buttons and settings are easy to adjust, though it might be a little confusing the first 3 times of use. Are the control buttons and settings easy to navigate? Yes, the buttons and settings are easy to navigate. The airfryer doesn’t have many buttons, but everything is labeled on the airfryer. How easy is it to adjust time and temperature manually? It’s very easy to adjust time and temperature manually. It’s both the same button and you either move it left or right to increase or decrease temperature or time. Are the instructions or manual clear and helpful? The instructions were very easy to follow, but you might not need it. Design: Is the air fryer’s size and shape convenient for your kitchen space? The air fryer is sort of big, but it also fits in many places. It may be hard to hide, but it still looks nice in the kitchen with the right decorations. How durable does the build quality feel? The build quality feels really durable and looks like it can last a very long time. Does the exterior stay cool during operation? The exterior does get hot on the bottom and kind of warm on the side, so don’t touch it while cooking, or immediately after a meal finishes. Overall Value: Does the air fryer offer good features for its price? The air fryer does offer good features for its price. On Amazon it’s only $110.48. The airfryer is very durable and works very well for that price! Do you think the air fryer is durable enough for long-term use? Yes, I believe the air fryer is durable enough for long-term use! Would you recommend this air fryer to others based on its performance and features? I definitely recommend this air fryer based on its performance and features! comments debug Comments Write a comment Write a comment Share Your Thoughts Be the first to write a comment.

- Bhad Bhabie and Alabama Barker Feud | TLFP
Facebook X (Twitter) WhatsApp LinkedIn Pinterest Copy link Bhad Bhabie and Alabama Barker Feud Brooklyn Patterson Mar 13, 2025 All this drama is pointless. Bhad Bhabie and Alabama Barker (Travis Barker’s Daughter) are currently in a back and forth viral feud. This feud has included diss tracks, cheating, allegations and even connections to the Kardashians. Bhad Bhabie has a boyfriend named LeVaughn whom she had a baby with in March 2024. This all started when the rapper accused 19 year old Alabama of trying to steal her boyfriend. Alabama denied the claim, and stated that LeVaughn misled her into thinking he was single. Alabama posted on her story in December saying that LeVaughn was manipulating Bhad Bhabie and feeding her a distorted narrative so that his actions would be justified. In January, Bhad Bhabie dropped a diss track (she didn’t name drop Alabama) insinuating that Alabama had a fling with Soulja Boy and Allegedly got pregnant by Tyga. Both Alabama and Tyga denied the claims that were said. Weeks later, Alabama made her own diss track where she confirmed that she got involved with LeVaughn. Bhad Bhabie later dropped Ms. Whitman, which threw shots at Alabama’s famous family ties, and even featured a lookalike of her father. All this drama is pointless. It all started because of an ugly man who cheats. I am on Bhad Bhabies side because Alabama literally slept with that girl’s baby daddy. She then proceeded to talk down on her and do dirty things to her when they were allegedly supposed to be friends. At first I was on Alabama’s side until more information came to surface. I don’t understand how she didn’t know that was her baby daddy if they were apparently friends. After Bhad Bhabie dropped the diss on Alabama, a lot of people she used to beef with came out promoting the diss. People like Woah Vicky, and Malu, who were known for their dislike towards Bhad Bhabie promoted the song and were on her side. Alabama later got into the studio to respond to Ms.Whitman (the diss against her). She released a snippet of it on her story where she dissed Bhad Bhabie’s daughter Kali who hasn't even turned 1 yet. I feel as if she’s wrong because the baby didn't even do anything. comments debug Comments Write a comment Write a comment Share Your Thoughts Be the first to write a comment.
- Transportation Turmoil : Ebr's Returning Transportation Nightmare | TLFP
Facebook X (Twitter) WhatsApp LinkedIn Pinterest Copy link Transportation Turmoil : Ebr's Returning Transportation Nightmare Vivienne Leachman Aug 18, 2025 As students return to East Baton Rouge Parish, one thing that has consistently persisted to shroud the first days of school in darkness is the district's often insufficient transportation system. As students return to East Baton Rouge Parish, one thing that has consistently persisted to shroud the first days of school in darkness is the district's often insufficient transportation system. Some of the many challenges that officials have to grapple with around the district are route delays, mechanical failures, safety incidents, and systematic inconsistency that negatively affect students' classroom experience. Once schools reopened in the fall of 2023, EBRPSS acknowledged how many bus routes were delayed and pick up points had been changed -- which created confusion. Then Superintendent Sito Narcisse urged parents to just be patient. However, later that year, Kevin Ridgely the head of transportation and EBRPSS resigned after just 7 months on the job, highlighting frustrations with unresolved systematic transportation issues. In late 2024, the district was still experiencing troubles, and transportation started using external assistants to mitigate the shortage of drivers. These drivers, referred to as Trail relief drivers, were temporarily covering regular routes. However, many relief drivers drove the same routes for months. In May 2025, the district hired Prismatic Services, a national firm to help eliminate inefficient transfer locations and help aid in later School times. In July, EBRPSS introduced the transportation opt out program which allowed families who had other means of transportation to opt out of bus service, which reduced congestion on the roads and shortened route times. Ahead of the 2025 - 2026 school year EBRPSS implemented two key changes -- Aid in transportation by reaffirming the enforcement of state law that students living within a mile of the school must self transport, and replacing door-to-door service with Community pickup points to improve efficiency. Yet for students like Rainee Buster and Tamari Stephens who are 11th graders at Liberty Magnet High School, expressed how challenges haven't disappeared. Rainee said the transformation of her route to a transfer route added nearly 90 minutes to her trip home. “ If they had a more organized system and paid their bus drivers better --there wouldn't be so many kids without a bus and had actually got home at a decent hour safely”, Rainee said. Tamari also expressed how she believed the reoccurring transportation issues would affect her education. Stating how ” Missing class time slows down my learning and makes it harder for me to catch up over time this could lead to serious problems.” Tamari said. These are just some of the negative testimonies from students who are tired of the systematic transportation issues in their District. Whilst EBRPSS Transportation overhaul marks one of his largest systematic reforms to the transportation department in years, the challenges in the district are far from over. The success of new routes, upgraded buses and increased safety measures will truly be measured, not in arrival times but whether students like tomorrow and rainy days can depend on safe consistent rides every day. Reliable transportation isn't a luxury, it's a difference between falling behind and having a fair shot at success. comments debug Comments Write a comment Write a comment Share Your Thoughts Be the first to write a comment.
- OPINION - Book Adaptations Need to Stop | TLFP
Facebook X (Twitter) WhatsApp LinkedIn Pinterest Copy link OPINION - Book Adaptations Need to Stop Lily Vandyke Feb 12, 2026 The new Wuthering Heights movie is coming out, and people are not too happy about it. Published in 1847 and written by Emily Brontë, Wuthering Heights is an iconic novel that follows the story of Heathcliff and Catherine Earnshaw. The story begins when Heathcliff, a dark-skinned orphan, is adopted by Mr. Earnshaw, Catherine’s father. The two develop a passionate bond. After Catherine marries Edgar Linton, Heathcliff leaves and later returns wealthy, determined to take cruel revenge on the Earnshaw and Linton families before his death. This is one of my favorite books I have ever read. It is such a beautiful story, and seeing what it is becoming as a movie has made me upset. From the looks of it, the teaser focuses more on intense and uncomfortable imagery rather than the gothic atmosphere the novel originally had. The plot feels oversexualized, even though it was originally written as a tragic and dark love story. Additionally, Jacob Elordi being cast as Heathcliff, despite the character being described as dark-skinned, does not make sense to many readers. The entire movie looks like a mess and does not seem true to the book. Will I watch it? Yes. However, will I like it? Probably not. comments debug Comments Write a comment Write a comment Share Your Thoughts Be the first to write a comment.
