Nintendo announced the Nintendo Switch 2, releasing June 5, 2025. It will cost $449.99, or $499.99 with “Mario Kart World.” Pre-orders start April 9. The console has a 7.9-inch screen with 1080p resolution and supports 4K when docked. It includes 256GB of storage and new magnetic Joy-Con controllers with bigger buttons. It also adds cool features like GameChat for voice/video chat and GameShare for local multiplayer with one game copy. The launch will include new games like “Mario Kart World,” “Metroid Prime 4,” and updated Zelda titles. GameCube games are coming too. The Switch 2 works with most old Switch games and will be shown off at events before launch.
I think the new Switch costs too much. It breaks too easily and can’t hold many games. I have one and it is fun to play. I really like playing Mario Kart on it. But even then, it doesn’t have a lot of space for games. If you buy it for kids, it might not last long. The controllers come off and they break really fast. There are also too many little parts for kids to lose. The games are fun, but the system itself isn’t strong. I wouldn’t spend that much money on it.
