REVIEW - Heated Rivalry
...Or better known as "That one DL hockey show".

The tension in this show was crazy. Heated Rivalry, released Nov. 28, took people by surprise with how good it was. Some say the plot was amazing, and others say there was never really a plot at all. Personally, I think Heated Rivalry was really good. The buildup in each episode and the secrecy really make the show stand out. I think the actors played their roles very well, which added to the overall quality of the show. It definitely took some people by surprise because of certain scenes, and it isn’t something everyone should be watching.
Another surprise was that there were two side characters who had a similar relationship. However, instead of only seeing each other occasionally, they were able to be together all the time. I was really surprised that the other player was into men, but it all made sense in the end. Many people have similar opinions to mine, and many think Heated Rivalry was really good. Even if some scenes were intense, the plot was strong if you sit and pay attention instead of focusing only on those moments. It is also a good spinoff after reading the book. If you want a better perspective, you should read the book and then watch the show — it really ties everything together and helps things make sense.
I think the ending of Heated Rivalry was really wholesome. Shane coming out to his parents and them being supportive made me emotional. I also think it was great that they made their relationship public after trying so hard to keep it a secret, even going as far as contacting each other under different names. It was really sweet that they ended up living together in their parents’ cottage in the end. Seeing them together comfortably was definitely relieving because, either way, their relationship would have had to end or be exposed. I would definitely watch this again. The show is a solid 10 out of 10.
