Facebook X (Twitter) WhatsApp LinkedIn Pinterest Copy link A Cheerleader's Story Quiana Lavergne Aug 19, 2024 Cheerleader Gives Insight on Her Future Career as Her High School Days Come to an End. Zoe Batiste, a 17-year-old senior at Liberty High School, has been an outstanding member of the cheerleading squad. She’s known for her energy, leadership, and dedication. She has performed in the Patriots Boys' Basketball championship game in 2024. As for her next decision after high school, she looks forward to continuing her cheerleading career as a coach, where she hopes to inspire others with her passion within being a cheerleader. Tell us about yourself and experience in cheerleading .. What inspired you to become a cheerleader? I’ve been cheering since I was about 5 or 6. I started out doing competition cheer, then I switched back and forth between school and competition once I started middle school. I never really had inspiration before I started, I tried every sport out and found love in cheerleading, once I tried it I never stopped. How do you stay motivated during challenging practices? I think about how much fun I'll have once the season starts and how fun games are! What stunts or routines are you most proud of performing? I’m most proud of performing our pyramid we have called “flying squirrel”. Describe how important teamwork is in cheerleading compared to individual skills. What are some examples? Teamwork is probably the most important thing when it comes to cheerleading because you have to create some type of bond within the team for your stunts and cheers to hit and flow. For example, if a stunt group works together and communicates at all times soon they will be able to trust each other to do their parts and the stunt will hit! Do you know where you plan on continuing your cheerleading career after high school? I may cheer in college, I haven’t decided yet but I am also very interested in coaching or helping younger cheerleaders. Zoe’s impressive skills, commitments, and positive attitude has not only enhanced her team’s performances but it also inspires those around her. With a bright future ahead, Zoe Batiste is on a great path that will continue to make a difference and impact both on and off the field or court. comments debug Comments Write a comment Write a comment Share Your Thoughts Be the first to write a comment.
- Player Highlight: Aidan Rowley | TLFP
Facebook X (Twitter) WhatsApp LinkedIn Pinterest Copy link Player Highlight: Aidan Rowley Kenyetta Jones Sep 27, 2024 As the school year kicks into high gear, one name is making a big impact on the football field: Aidan Rowley. As the school year kicks into high gear, one name is making a big impact on the football field: Aidan Rowley. A junior at Liberty High School, Rowley has captured the attention of fans and experts alike with his standout performances and unwavering dedication. Encouraged by a former coach to try out with no prior experience, Rowley discovered a deep passion for the game he once only watched on TV. Football has quickly become more than just a sport for Rowley; it’s an escape where he finds freedom and clarity. I caught up with Aidan about their first game. How has preparation for this game been different compared to previous matches ? We have lost to southern lab for the past two years in a row so it is important to change the standard for us going into our new season. What’s the biggest challenge you expect to face from today’s opponent, and how do you plan to handle it ? Southern lab’s run game, but we can stop it because I know we have multiple great linemen and linebackers. How important is communication on the field going to be today ? It is very important because we have a lot of new adjustments to our team as a whole so making sure we communicate and that we are on the same page could help us improve in a lot of areas. Do you feel any added pressure with this being a must-win game ? No, because I know that we have what it takes to win. We just have to make sure that we stay locked in and stay focused as a whole. We caught up with Aidan after the game to get insight of his thoughts during the game. How are you feeling after today’s game, and what do you think went wrong for the team? It was rough but we had some minor mistakes that I know we can fix because without those mistakes we could have turned the game around. What adjustments did the team try to make during the game to turn things around? We did not make any adjustments, we just knew we had to go into every play with the mindset to win. How do you plan to bounce back and prepare for the next game ? The plan is to practice harder than last week, fix the small mistakes we made, and we will get better. Despite the loss, were there any positives you can take away from this game ? We know that what we run on both sides of the ball can work against teams and that if we polish ourselves it will be hard to beat. How do you stay mentally strong after a tough loss like this ? Remember that not every game will be a win and that after 24 hours it’s time to forget about it, win or loss, and focus on the next game. How do you plan to use this experience to improve your own performance going forward ? I understand that I need to work harder in order to be put in a situation by my coaches to where they can trust that I’ll carry out my responsibilities. Rowley’s rise in football highlights the impact of following one’s passion. What started as a simple tryout has grown into a remarkable journey of growth and dedication. With his impressive skills and enthusiasm, Rowley is not only making a mark on the field but also inspiring others. As he looks ahead, it’s clear that his future in football is full of promise. comments debug Comments Write a comment Write a comment Share Your Thoughts Be the first to write a comment.

The social media reaction to the Giant’s recent week has been a study in extremes. After they crumbled against the Saints, turning the ball over five times, including three fumbles, and falling apart after leading, fans erupted in frustration. Many blamed sloppy execution, poor decision-making, and questioned whether the team’s leadership was to blame. Others seized on a controversial roughing-the-passer call late in the Saints game, labeling it “ridiculous” and “inexplicable,” and arguing that officiating had unfairly cost New York momentum. Amid the tears and criticism, some even floated the idea that the Giants might be subtly “tanking” games to improve their draft positioning, pointing to moments they believed looked fishy. Then the fan fell, after thumping the Eagles in decisive fashion, social media changed tone basically overnight. Giants supporters basked in memes and trash talk. Even the social media staff at New York posted an "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" insult targeting the Eagles. Some players further fanned the flames, with Kayvon Thibodeaux notoriously saying "F--k them Eagles" in real-time, prompting more backlash over decorum and sportsmanship. Meanwhile, Philadelphia's strategy critics cited the excessive usage of the "tush push" play, specifically after running it no less than four consecutive times, alleging it “devalued” the win and stoked the passion in the rivalry. comments debug Comments Write a comment Write a comment Share Your Thoughts Be the first to write a comment.
