It is made to be deeply psychological and visually arresting. “Monster: The Ed Gein Story” is not a regular true crime biography. It is made to be deeply psychological and visually arresting. The show dives into hallucinatory territory to depict Gein’s deteriorating mental state, using his dreamlike sequences, broken timelines, and mangled visual metaphors. These choices aim to give viewers a look into Gein’s schizophrenia and deeply rooted trauma that comes from his abusive mother, and his isolation from everyone else where he lives. Also everyone seems to take a specific dislike in the main character’s odd and creepy, high-pitched voice. There wasn’t much of a story to the show itself, but the way they were able to fictionalize it enough to make it worth the watch. With every victim in the show they sort of insulted them, whether they were real or assumed. The lines in the show were clearly based on the regular Hollywood storylines. You can basically tell that most of the stuff that was portrayed in the show was made up. Especially in episode six “Slanderous and untrue” was so far fetched from reality, to appeal to the audience. There is also a lot of gore included in the show, but I feel it was overexaggerated to appeal to another type of audience. The story relied on dragging out the gore and “creepy stuff" to get more views.I think that Ryan Murphy thinks he is pushing the envelope and “breaking norms,” when everything in the show was all the norms exaggerated to make it seem different. It seems he is trying to compare himself with Hitchcock and makes multiple points of doing so. Now, personally, I watch a lot of true crime and horror movies, so a lot of these things are easy to get by. But things were still pushed a bit too far. And back to his voice, a lto fo people say it was super annoying, and they couldn’t stand listening to it. Some even say he probably didn’t even sound like that, they just made him sound like that to make the character seem more creepy. I wouldn’t really call it a fictional story. It is about Ed Gein, the real person, but you have to remember that these people weren’t around to really know exactly what he was doing. It is more so about the myth surrounding Ed Gein, and they overlap it in interesting ways. With the combination of exaggeration and creepiness, and gore, that is what really makes the show seem more on the fictional side. While this show is odd and morbid, it was a good and interesting watch. If you can handle a show like this, then give it a watch. comments debug Comments Write a comment Write a comment Share Your Thoughts Be the first to write a comment.

  • Two More Arrested in SU Student’s Hazing Death | TLFP

Facebook X (Twitter) WhatsApp LinkedIn Pinterest Copy link Two More Arrested in SU Student’s Hazing Death Claniya Olinde Mar 25, 2025 Two more people have been arrested in the hazing death of Caleb Wilson, a student at Southern University. Police say Kyle Thurman and Isiah Smith were charged with felony criminal hazing. Earlier, Caleb McCray was arrested and charged with criminal hazing and manslaughter. Wilson died after going to an off-campus fraternity event. At first, fraternity members lied about where it happened, making it harder for police to figure out the truth. This case shows how dangerous hazing can be. Many people think there should be stricter rules to stop this from happening again. I think all sororities and fraternities should be banned. Clearly hazing being banned/illegal isn’t enough, this may decrease the chances of hazing happening. Other sororities are most likely part taking in the same activities and just havent been caught. A student lost his life because of people who think they are bigger and better than others. These are grown men who aren’t even in college, graduated. It’s good they are being charged, why come back to humiliate and harm students. comments debug Comments Write a comment Write a comment Share Your Thoughts Be the first to write a comment.

  • The Downfall of Roblox | TLFP

Facebook X (Twitter) WhatsApp LinkedIn Pinterest Copy link The Downfall of Roblox Lauren Lands Jan 14, 2026 With this latest update Roblox seems way more eerie and quiet. In January 2026, Roblox released an update that separated users by age group, and only allowed players to chat with people in the same age group as them. This update has outraged many players and has caused a load of problems. Some seem to think this update will ultimately cause the downfall of Roblox. The problem with this update that stands out to me the most is if you do not verify your age in the game, then it will put you in the age group they think you are in. This could really cause problems by mixing children with adults, and you know how that goes. The thing that Roblox is trying to protect the children from is now more prone to happen. This update has made Roblox way more dangerous than safe. With this update Roblox seems way more eerie and quiet. The game is way less fun without people able to talk to other people. I thought the whole point of Roblox was to be able to socialize with others, but this update is stopping people from doing exactly that. Some even believe that Roblox is turning its players back into the original character called Guest. This new verification process is also a big problem. You would think as a person who verified their age, you would be put with other people who have done the same, but it is the opposite. Even with your account verified, you are put in lobbies with people who can’t chat with you, and it is more quiet than ever. S0me people are even going as far as selling pre-verified accounts with different age groups which is even more dangerous, because creeps can buy accounts that are verified in young age groups, and chat with minors. I think Roblox should remove this update immediately if they want their game to continue to thrive. Personally, I play Roblox games that don’t really need socialization, but when I do it’s not fun. And if Roblox doesn’t want to have more problems with their games, then they should get it done soon. comments debug Comments Write a comment Write a comment Share Your Thoughts Be the first to write a comment.

  • REVIEW - Faye Webster Steals the Show: Even When Under-Dressed at the Symphony | TLFP

Facebook X (Twitter) WhatsApp LinkedIn Pinterest Copy link REVIEW - Faye Webster Steals the Show: Even When Under-Dressed at the Symphony Faye Webster is proof that quiet can still be powerful. Faye Webster is proof that quiet can still be powerful. Made in Atlanta singer-songwriter named the record after her habit of slipping into the symphony at the last minute, wearing whatever she had on. That casualty runs through every song here. The album mixes indie rock, folk, R&B, and a touch of country without ever feeling forced. “Thinking About You” stretches into seven minutes of dreamy reflection, while “But Not Kiss” builds intensity in a pop-rock ensemble. “Lego Ring,” with rapper Lil Yachty, is quirky and fun, balancing the more moodier songs. Even the shortest track, “Feeling Good Today,” turns a passing thought into something strangely memorable. What makes this record work is how unpolished it feels like Faye is letting us read her diary out loud. It is not about big hooks or flashy production. Instead, it’s about intimacy, mood, and capturing small truths. For me, that’s what makes Underdressed at the Symphony so striking: it feels like you are sitting next to Faye in the audience, underdressed but completely at home. Almost every song made and produced by her is a written masterpiece. She is one of few artist that you can really tell speaks from the heart. What I like most about this album is how personal it feels. Faye doesn’t try to overwhelm with big choruses she lets the small details do the heavy lifting. At times, the songs can feel almost too slow or understated, but that’s also what makes them stick with you. “But Not Kiss” is the one I kept coming back to, while "Tttttime" stayed in my head long for a long time. For me, Underdressed at the Symphony isn’t just background music it’s the kind of record that sneaks up on you and quietly demands your attention. comments debug Comments Write a comment Write a comment Share Your Thoughts Be the first to write a comment.

  • Meet Dr. Birdsong | TLFP

Facebook X (Twitter) WhatsApp LinkedIn Pinterest Copy link Meet Dr. Birdsong Samuel Kanidy Sep 9, 2024 Meet LMHS Choir Director and Piano Teacher, Dr. Birdsong! Dr. Birdsong is the director of the choir and the piano teacher at Liberty Magnet High School. Her interest for choir and piano is one very ingrained in who she is, all her degrees being music-based. Her favorite part of her job is the opportunity to teach many students over the years and also learn many things from the job itself. She feels that “It's a really fulfilling thing for me to do”. She especially enjoys seeing the satisfaction on her students' faces when they finally succeed on a piece of music, “It lets me know that they are learning something and that they are continuing to excel at that.” Future events and activities she wants to implement again for her classes are the winter arts programs, talent shows, school tour, etc. For the school tour, the choir was able to go to elementary schools and perform for them. Opportunities like these help scholars develop confidence in themselves, or in Dr. Birdsong’s words, “The more opportunities you get to perform the better your chances of wanting to get out of your comfort zone and perform, you know for the school's activities in general like the talents shows.” When asked about her opinion on the rise or fall in the interest of art she says, “I think that the fine arts department although, we are very big on promoting our department, we want to make sure that there is a lot of support as well. I'm thankful to be in this situation where at my school, there is more of an interest in the arts.” Furthermore, she states, “...the more they see us, the more that they see band, the more that they see the dance department, the more that they see our art department, the more they see of the theater department, and the more that they see us the choir department and piano, the word gets out that these are classes that you not only learn a lot in but you can also have fun as well.” From the dawn of time, art has been well established in the hearts of man. At every stage of humanity, from the stone age to the renaissance, art has been crucial to civilization and society. Which makes it even better to have wonderful teachers like Dr. Birdsong continue the long tradition of art, culture, and music. comments debug Comments Write a comment Write a comment Share Your Thoughts Be the first to write a comment.

  • REVIEW - Cyberbullying Taken to the Next Level | TLFP

Facebook X (Twitter) WhatsApp LinkedIn Pinterest Copy link REVIEW - Cyberbullying Taken to the Next Level Imagine finding out your biggest bully was not a classmate, but your own mom. Imagine finding out your biggest bully was not a classmate, but your own mom. That's the shocking reality at the heart of Netflix's new documentary Unknown Number: The High School Catfish. What begins as a small-town story of cyberbullying quickly unravels into one of the most jaw-dropping betrayals imaginable. The film follows high schooler Lauryn Licari and her boyfriend Owen Mckenny as they are bombarded with dozens of anonymous text messages every day. At first, everyone assumes the culprit is another student, and even Lauryn's friend Khole Wilson gets dragged into into suspicion. But as the investigation deepens, the truth takes a horrifying turn: the message were coming from Lauryn's own mother, Kendra Licari. From there, the documentary dives into an emotional trainwreck. Showing the impact of the victims, the community, and the family itself. With real logs, raw interviews, and body-cam footage of Kendra's arrest, Unknown Number feels more like a psychological thriller than a true story. At its core, the film is not just about cyberbullying itd about hwo trust can shatter when the danger comes from the very person who was supposed to protect you. This documentary is one of the wildest, most unsettling true-crime stories Netflix has ever put out. It grabs you from the very first minute and does not let go, because what seems like a typical high school cyberbullying case spirals into something unthinkable. What makes this documentary even crazier is the sear amount of messages and the content within them. The disgusting things her own mother said to her just off of the excuse of “ I wanted to catch them". I personally think her own mother was jealous of her and wanted her own daughter boyfriend. This documentary show you that you never know who is behind the screen. In conclusion, watch it. comments debug Comments Write a comment Write a comment Share Your Thoughts Be the first to write a comment.

Chante Howard Sep 4, 2025 Inclusion in the classroom means that all children, no matter their racial, religious, or ethnic background, gender, learning style, or ability have equal access to educational opportunities in a learning environment where all students are equally safe, valued, and respected. Inclusion in the classroom means that all children, no matter their racial, religious, or ethnic background, gender, learning style, or ability have equal access to educational opportunities in a learning environment where all students are equally safe, valued, and respected. Inclusion in the classroom means making sure all students feel seen and don’t feel excluded. It doesn’t have to just be in the classroom but just in the school in general. Not only teachers but students as well can come together as a whole to make sure that their classmates feel included. Now it’s really not the student’s job to do that but I believe that everyone getting along in a classroom can make the class more enjoyable and interesting. You don’t have to befriend them but you can make them feel included. I interviewed my friend Tyren Moore who goes here at Liberty Magnet High School. He is in 12th grade and he sometimes feels left out of things even while being around his own friends. I asked him “How can we create a more inclusive environment for students from different cultural backgrounds?”. Tyren said “ I believe that we can create a more inclusive environment for students from different cultural backgrounds by making sure everyone feels appreciated. Yes, as this school we have an African American History class but I believe we should have at least clubs for people of different races and cultures.” comments debug Comments Write a comment Write a comment Share Your Thoughts Be the first to write a comment.

  • OPINION - Crumbl's Dubai Chocolate Cookie is Overrated | TLFP

Facebook X (Twitter) WhatsApp LinkedIn Pinterest Copy link OPINION - Crumbl's Dubai Chocolate Cookie is Overrated Lily Vandyke Aug 22, 2025 Now in crumble cookie form… Dubai Chocolate! Now in crumble cookie form… Dubai Chocolate! The new hottest trend can now be found at any Crumbl store along with seven other flavors. For a couple of months now, Dubai chocolate has been all the rage. From Dubai chocolate matcha to Labubus, people have been turning Dubai chocolate into everything they can think of. To some, it is the most delicious cookie to debut on the website. To others, it is just an overrated micro trend. In my opinion, I agree that the Dubai chocolate cookie is certainly overrated and not worth the hype. The Dubai brownie comes in a square shaped pan and involves all the Dubai chocolate characteristics: chocolate, pistachio, and pan-fried kataifi. In real life, the brownie is quite appetizing. Unfortunately, It does not taste as good as it looks. I will admit, the brownie is soft and crunchy at the same time and the kataifi bits add a nice crunch to it, but that's about it. The brownie is so sweet, an overwhelming type of sweetness actually. I like sweet things but this is not it. The pistachio and chocolate overpower each other, making it unbearable. Along with the taste, it is too dense and thick. The thickness of the brownie makes it too hard to eat. It is just not enjoyable. For the price of 8 dollars, it is not worth it. For what it is, a brownie with toppings, 8 dollars is very overpriced. I rather make brownies myself. Compared to other food trends in the past, Dubai chocolate is one of the food trends that I hope will not last. comments debug Comments Write a comment Write a comment Share Your Thoughts Be the first to write a comment.

It captured the anxiety of kids trying to figure out their lives in their final days of school. In crowded halls and shifting trends, A senior navigates, time bends, Balancing the moments they can't rewind, With dreams that flicker in their mind. Social scenes and endless tests, Finding time for self, for rest. A would of choices paths unclear, They chase a future, hold it near. In laughter shared and late-night talks, In dreams and fears, in midnight walks, They grasp for life with all their might, Trying to live through day and night comments debug Comments Write a comment Write a comment Share Your Thoughts Be the first to write a comment.
